Privacy Policy

KStreak ("we", "us", "our") operates the KStreak mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using the App you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information — email address, password (stored as a one-way hash), and display name, collected when you sign up.
  • Content you create — goals, tasks, rituals, journal entries, knowledge notes (Mindweave), weekly reviews, workspace names, and any other content you enter into the App.
  • Voice recordings — if you choose to record a voice journal entry, the audio file is uploaded and stored on our servers so you can play it back across devices. You can delete recordings at any time from the app.
  • Photos and images — if you attach images to notes or journal entries, they are uploaded and stored on our servers. You can delete them at any time.
  • Contacts — if you opt in to "find teammates on KStreak", we read your device's contact list on-device and only transmit contact email addresses and phone numbers to our servers to match them against existing KStreak accounts. Matched contacts show as "already on KStreak"; unmatched contacts are never stored.
  • Payment information — if you subscribe to KStreak Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe (web purchases) or Google Play Billing / Apple App Store (mobile purchases). We never see or store your full card number. We store only the subscription status and a customer identifier issued by the payment processor.

1.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Usage data — how you interact with the App (screens visited, features used, timing), device type and OS version, IP address (used for abuse detection and region-specific content).
  • Push notification tokens — issued by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) / Expo Push Service, used to deliver notifications you've opted in to. Deleting the App revokes the token.
  • Crash and diagnostic data — if the App crashes, we collect anonymized crash logs to diagnose issues.

1.3 Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect your precise location (no GPS / geolocation).
  • We do not access your microphone unless you tap the voice-journal record button.
  • We do not access your camera or photo library unless you tap attach-photo.
  • We do not access your contacts unless you opt in to the find-teammates flow.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features.
  • Authenticate you and secure your account.
  • Deliver the notifications you've subscribed to.
  • Process your subscription payments and send you receipts.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., password reset) — sent via our email provider Resend.
  • Power AI features — when you use features like auto-enrichment of Mindweave notes, break-apart task suggestions, or bottom-up goal discovery, the relevant text is sent to a large-language-model provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini) via our Emergent LLM gateway for processing. The provider returns a result which we display to you. We do not use your content to train AI models.
  • Diagnose technical issues and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Who We Share Your Information With

We share your information only with the following categories of third parties, and only as necessary to run the service:

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

We may disclose your information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

4. Data Retention

  • Your content is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • If you delete an individual piece of content (note, task, journal entry, recording, photo), it is removed from our primary database within 24 hours and from backups within 30 days.
  • If you delete your entire account, all of your content is permanently removed within 30 days, except minimal records (subscription status, financial records) retained as required by law.
  • Crash logs and anonymized usage analytics are retained for up to 13 months.

5. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and correction — you can access and edit most of your data directly within the App.
  • Deletion — you can delete individual content items, or your entire account, from the App settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Permissions — you can revoke microphone, photo library, contacts, and notification permissions at any time in your device settings.
  • Marketing — we do not send marketing emails unless you've explicitly opted in. You can unsubscribe from any email via the link in the email footer.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), or similar regulations — including the right to receive a copy of your data, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a regulator. 6. Children's Privacy

KStreak is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit (TLS / HTTPS) and at rest (encrypted database volumes). No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

8. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. By using the App you agree that your data may be transferred to and stored in the US. Where required by law (e.g., EU data subjects), we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top, and — if the changes are material — notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
